Multi-Agent System
Multi-agent systems have been gaining increasing attention thanks to their ability to coordinate simultaneously or co-operate to achieve common goals. Multi-agent systems provide some fundamental strengths that could not be achieved with single agent systems, e.g., increased flexibility, enhanced reliability and resilience, simultaneous broad area coverage or capability to operate outside the communication range of base stations. Efficient cooperation of multi-agent systems is a vital part for their successful operations and effective decision making is the key enabler of such cooperation. To this end, AIS Lab is working on mathematical optimisation and numerical approaches to design and analyse cooperative decision making for multi-agent systems so that they will complete the required missions and respond predictably to operator instructions at all times.
